Beautifully hand painted these perfectly turned set of wooden nesting dolls fit neatly inside one anther the largest 5.5 inches in height reducing through to tiny little skeleton which is just under 2 inches in size - a great decorative set and although they have no sharp corners they are not for children due to the sizing of the small parts.

These are a wonderful twist on the traditional babushka or Matrysoshka dolls which are a traditional representation of the mother carrying a child within her and can be seen as a representation of a chain of mothers carrying on the family legacy through the child in their womb.

In turn each has a skeleton and here they are! bringing a wonderful hint of darkness and macabre beauty to this traditional art piece!
